December Newsletter

Welcome to December my little Dragon family!

This year is quickly approaching an end, not only to the 2017 year but also an end to our first semester.  Please continue to make school important and ask your child how school was every day.  As you already do, convey your love of education and insist on good attendance and punctuality.

Now that fall has officially arrived I am asking for your help in making sure that warm clothing is sent to school with your child. Here in the south our temperatures can change dramatically from one day to the next, so being prepared is a necessity.  We will continue to go outside for recess during cold weather unless the windchill is below 42 degrees, so please help in making sure that proper clothing is sent with your child.

I want to thank you for your help and support in reporting into our office upon entering the building. We are in the process of transitioning to a new “sign-in/out” system, Hall Pass, so please bring your driver’s license with you.  You will not be required to bring it, once you have been initially scanned into our system.

As always, it is great to see our visitors.  Know that you are all more than welcome as this is our building and we are here to work with our kids together. Get involved with your child’s education by meeting with his/her teachers, attend school events, and help out at school if you can.  Just be sure if you would like to visit with your child’s teacher to please make arrangement to visit during the conference time set aside, so that our children do not lose valuable instruction and the teacher is able to give you his/her undivided attention.

If you have any questions about your child’s experience at GCES please do not hesitate to give us a call, email or please stop by. As always, my door is open.  Best wishes, and I hope you have MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Love always,

Mrs. Jewell
